This is our month. November is COPD Awareness month. This is our time to educate those who don’t know any better. Those that think we deserve this disease because we smoked. Remember that smoking is only one of the causes of COPD, there are many more reasons for developing this debilitating illness. Many of us lived with second hand smoke from our spouses, parents and grandparents. We worked in environments that had poor or no ventilation and lived in high pollution areas. We were born preemies or had blood clots in our lungs. Some of us have genetic disposition to COPD. Regardless of why we developed it, none of us deserve to live with COPD.
